She's just published a book called : "How To Create A Super Hero".

Halloween Approaches & Features!

Well, things have been a bit *thing* of late...
I haven't been spending as much time on art as I'd like, mainly because we've got our rental inspection today, so I've been cleaning like a woman posessed. The yard is neat & tidy, the house is spotless and I'm buggered. At least it's all done though & I do feel better for it. Not that I ever let the place get too messy, but it had been a while since I'd done a good 'ol Spring cleaning.

On a side note. I hate daylight savings... :shakefist:

Anyhoo, Halloween is just around the corner! I'm so excited!!! I'm pretty much ready now... I was able to find pumpkins, so I've bought 4 of them. Just deciding on what to carve into them this year. I always try to do different patterns each year. I've also bought all my candy - oh those kids are going to be on such a sugar high :XD: Got hold of 3 tubes of glow bracelets to hand out to the kids who have made an effort to get dressed up. All I've got to do now is decorate! I'm going to my Mum's place tomorrow to start decorating her garage. I've got some new stuff this year too, so hopefully things will look a little better. Got 3 new tombstones & some ghosts/ghouls to hang around the yard. So yeah, hopefully I'll be able to get the garage all done tomorrow & make a start on the pumpkins, and then on Wednesday I'll decorate the yard & get myself ready for the onslaught of kiddies. I'm guessing that I'll get even more this year than what I did last year - the perks of living opposite a primary school!. I still don't know that I want to dress up as though... Not that I've got many options cause I can't really afford a costume. I'll put something together out of all the gear I've got here. I'm thinking either a witch or a demon. I might try some combo's out later tonight & see what works best.

Well, to get into the Halloween spirit here's some Sppoktacular features for you to feast on!

Blessings,
Lily

 Yep, that's what you get when you do something that you don't normally do... You find out that you have muscles that you never thought you did before - cause they FREAKIN' HURT!

I've just spent the best part of 2 days (upwards of 12 hours) weeding my backyard. Well, my rented backyard. It looked like an exotic jungle! Soooooooo many weeds. I kid you not, I filled an entire 240Litre wheelie bin with weeds & I'm STILL not finished. I just can't do any more cause I've got nowhere to dump them. I don't think I've ever seen that many weeds in one place before. And that's not counting the Bindii either. I think I'll have to deal out some chemical destruction on those little suckers... Darn prickly little buggers.

My hands, arms, legs & knees are sooo sore right now. If anything falls onto the ground, I ain't picking it up... Cause I can't... Back is painful.

In some ways I don't know why I've bothered... I mean, It's not like it's MY garden. But I just know that when I go to mow it, I'd have had a catcher full of weeds & they have seeds & they would have multiplied & then sent out a re-con party to conquer the remaining patches of defenceless grass. So yeah.. Weeding.

When the bin gets emptied I'll finish the last section of the backyard & then I'll have to make a start on the front yard... Methinks it be another whole wheelie bin jobbie. :shakefist: Darned weeds! :shakefist:

On the art front, I'm working on a sketch for a Halloween piece.
ALSO - keep your eyes on this space - an exciting announcement to come.

Blessings,
Lily

Happenings

I just heard on the news service that Marcel Marceau has died, aged 84. 'Tis such a pity, as he was an amazing man. I was lucky enough to have seen him perform when he toured Australia in 2003 & came away from that in awe of what he could do. I'd never seen a real mime artist at work before, but he was the master. His movement was so emotive & graceful. A legend.

Well, onto other things....I've finally done it. I've placed the order for my new printer.
Whilst I am giddy & excited about this, I'm also a tad scared. I'm a step closer to trying to make this hobby of mine a job. I guess I've been a tad blinkered about it all. I mean, I haven't really put myself out there yet.. I haven't tried selling anything. Hell, I don't even know if anything will sell. It's all unknown at this stage, and I'm spending a huge bundle of cash without knowing whether it'll be worth it. I hope it will. I really need it to be.

Anyhoo, so I'm just waiting to hear back from the guy I've ordered it from. I hate waiting... Makes me nervous!

In the mean time, I've got several pieces that I'd like to get done & a couple of ideas I'd like toget down on paper. I've also got to start work on a piece for the latest AFAE group theme. Mystical Creatures. Still not sure what I want to do yet... Will think on it some more ;)

Have also been working on some new ACEO's.

I finished 'Daisy' today & have another one ready to go... A mermaid this time. I'm trying to be more patient & put more care & detail into these little pieces. Hopefully it'll help to improve my skills overall.

Also, I need to get my glasses fixed. Something's loose in them & they wobble. Annoying.

Am looking forward to next week. My hubby will be on holidays for 2 weeks. I like having him home

Um... that's it for now I think. Until next time....

Blessings,
Lily
